A BRAND new box for smoked and prepared salmon, called Coolseal Gold was launched at this years Seafood Processing Europe exibition. ‘This is an exciting and beautiful backing board in PP (polypropylene), 100% recyclable, very light in weight, impervious to oils, debris and fibre free, and incorporating our sealed edge making it good looking and strong at the edges, Stephen Clarke, managing director of UK manufacturer Tri-pack Plastics, tells Seafood Processor.
Also on show Tri-Pack’s stand last month was a complete packing line using Coolseal packaging, including a Tray-Plast box erector, auto-bag inserter, bag sealer, all by Niverplast of the Netherlands, and a lid applicator by First Process of Norway.
‘Customers may use all or just parts of this first class machinery, says Clarke. ‘The recyclable Coolseal packaging is leak-proof and perfect for airlines and supermarkets; it can also be draining if specified.’
Also on show was a new range of Coolseal Plus+ packs, which are ‘user-friendly’ four-corner glued pop-up boxes. ‘these packs incorperate our patented edge sealing process, creating insulation by sealed air, like double glazing,’ explains clarke.
Coolseal Plus+ comes in any size. On show was the Euro range, and ever size is designed with the aim of palletising on Euros perfectly. Every box in the range allows for labelling on the base before the lip is applied.
The sizes range from three to 25kg. Assembly and lidding can be totally automated by First Process front and end-of-line machinery. Of particular interest was the 25kg box for salmon, and a full Euro pallet was displayed.
In addition, Tri-Pack’s UK size range of ‘stone’ boxes was on show.
